I have had the opportunity to play both on stage and in private with the Birkin Tree. Not only was I impressed by their musician ship which is equal of anything you might hear in Ireland, I was equally impressed by their musical integrity and understanding.
Their inter­pretations prove that the music can survive at the highest Jevels outside an Irish cultural context. They assure me in my belief that is a music lor anyone in the world to participate in and enjoy either as player or listener.
In listening to the Birkin free you wil1not be lis tening to a less authentic version of Irish music that if the band were from Ireland. Jou are hearing the real thing. Thanks you for the great work you are doing for Irish music.
